Students may begin the program in the spring, summer or fall term.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Broad career applications and contexts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A distinguishing feature is the program\u2019s applied focus. Rather than emphasizing theory alone, the curriculum gives students practical experience with analytics tools and methods they can use immediately in professional settings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe only way you can learn is to use real data and have real questions and real problems,\u201d said Dr. Benjamin George, assistant professor in the Department of Information Systems and Supply Chain Management. \u201cWe also apply data analytics tools in different contexts, operations or functional areas because no individual job is the same.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Coursework spans business intelligence, data mining, predictive and prescriptive analytics, statistical modeling and the interpretation of complex data to support strategic decision making.<\/p>\n<p>Analytics skills are increasingly valuable across industries, including healthcare, finance, marketing, operations, consulting and technology, where organizations rely more heavily on data to guide decisions and improve performance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStudents can apply these techniques anywhere,\u201d said Dr. Steve Wallace, an associate professor of information systems. \u201cFor anybody who&#8217;s interested in progressing their career, if you want to just be better at your own job \u2014whether you&#8217;re in HR, marketing, finance, accounting or something else \u2014 all the skills that that program strengthens can help you in your work. Even if you&#8217;re not going to be a dedicated data analyst, you\u2019ll have the skills to make better decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Growing employer demand<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, data-focused roles are projected to grow 25%, with median salaries ranging from $75,000 for market research analysts to more than $100,000 for data scientists and financial analysts. A Gallup survey found that 69% of employers preferred candidates with data analytics skills.<\/p>\n<p>Students learn from Ph.D.-holding faculty in the Neff College of Business and Innovation who specialize in analytics and information systems and bring both academic rigor and real-world industry insight to the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>The Neff College is accredited by AACSB International, placing it among a select group of business schools worldwide recognized for meeting the highest standards of quality.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Streamlined admission process<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>UToledo has streamlined the admissions process for the online Master of Applied Business to accomodate working professionals.
