The University of Toledo will house the innovative 5th Year program this upcoming academic year, marking a partnership between two organizations committed to empowering young adults through real-world experience, career exploration and purposeful decision-making.<\/p>\n

As a program of Junior Achievement of Northwestern Ohio, 5th Year is a transformative program that provides young adults with a structured, purpose-driven year focused on career exploration, financial independence and personal development.<\/p>\n

Up to 60 students, representing 18 high schools from across the region, will move onto the UToledo campus in August. During the nine-month program, students will benefit from an enhanced campus experience, expanded resources and deeper integration into a vibrant academic and professional community.<\/p>\n

\u201cUToledo is happy to house this innovative program as it transitions from Lourdes University,\u201d said University of Toledo President James Holloway. \u201cTogether, we\u2019ll create a dynamic environment where students can explore, grow and confidently take their next steps at the end of the 2026-27 academic year.\u201d<\/p>\n

5th Year aims to redefine post-secondary pathways \u2014 offering a model that prioritizes exploration, professional mentorship and intentional decision-making.<\/p>\n
