UToledo will host nearly two dozen summer camps for kids to boost their athletic skills, explore educational interests or have fun learning and playing with peers.<\/p><\/div>\n
The College of Engineering<\/strong> will host the\u00a0UToledo Engineering Summer Camp<\/a>, a weeklong program for high school students that includes an immersive experience where students delve into various engineering disciplines through hands-on activities, guided by UToledo faculty and student mentors. Each day focuses on a different field, offering interactive experiments and real-world challenges. The camp will be held Monday, July 20, through Friday, July 24.<\/p>\n The Neff College of Business and Innovation<\/strong> will host RISE Into Business<\/a>, which gives prospective students a taste of what studying business in college is like without the lectures. RISE is a three-day summer enrichment program designed for college-bound high school students with an interest in business and entrepreneurship. The camp will be held Monday, June 22, through Wednesday, June 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.<\/p>\n The Judith Herb College of Arts, Social Sciences and Education<\/strong> will host Make a Book: Reading, Writing, and Illustration Camp<\/a>. In this five-day camp, students entering grades 3-5 will be guided step-by-step through creating their very own book. Each day includes three 45-minute classes \u2014 one focused on reading, one on writing and one on illustration \u2014 plus a snack break to recharge.<\/p>\n The college will host Inclusive Performing Arts Camp<\/a>, open to middle school and high school students with disabilities and their instructors. Students will learn the fundamentals of performing arts, such as stage direction, blocking and choreography, while writing and starring in their own show. Instructors will learn adaptive and inclusive strategies for using performing arts in their classrooms. Both of those camps will be held Monday, July 13, through Friday, July 17, from 9 a.m. to noon.<\/p>\n And the college will host Hands On AI, Data and Media Literacy Camp<\/a>, organized by The Herb Innovation Center (THInC). Scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, July 20, through Friday, July 24, the camp is for students entering sixth through ninth grade and is designed to help them build the skills they need to safely and confidently navigate the online world. Campers will learn what AI is, how to understand and use data and how to tell whether information they see online is accurate.<\/p>\n The College of Health and Human Services<\/strong> will host a pair of camps \u2014 a daylong Nursing and Respiratory Care Camp<\/a> on Tuesday, June 16, and a two-day Health Professions Career Summer Camp<\/a> on Tuesday, July 14, and Wednesday, July 15, that allows prospective students to participate in hands-on activities like cadaver anatomy, therapeutic activities and simulated patient experiences. Additionally, students will have a chance to network with current UToledo students, faculty and alumni in these career fields. Both camps are on a first-come, first-served basis and have registration limits of 40 students.<\/p>\n The College of Medicine and Life Sciences<\/strong> will host three camps. Future Doctors Camp<\/a>, held Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12, and Rocket Neurosciences Laboratory Summer Camp<\/a>, held Monday, July 13, through Friday, July 24, are both multiday in-person camps that give students an immersive, interactive look into a career in medicine. Registration for the first camp closes Friday, May 22. Additionally, the college will host the Virtual Summer Biomedical Science Program in Bioinformatics from Monday, June 15, through Saturday, July 11.<\/p>\n The College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences<\/strong> will host a pair of camps \u2014 an in-person, three-day Pharmacy & Science Career Camp<\/a> from Monday, June 15, through Wednesday, June 17, that includes an overnight stay in one of UToledo\u2019s residence halls, and a virtual three-day Cosmetic Science and Formulation Design Summer Camp<\/a> from Wednesday, July 8, through Friday, July 10, that teaches participants about the science of makeup formulation and highlights UToledo\u2019s unique undergraduate Cosmetic Science and Formulation Design Program. The in-person camp has a registration limit of 60 students, and the online camp has a limit of 150 students.<\/p>\n University of Toledo camps for children.<\/strong><\/p>\n UToledo Kid\u2019s Camp<\/a> offers a dynamic and engaging program designed for kids ages 5 through 12 with activities including nature hikes, arts and crafts, swimming, sports and interactive games that inspire creativity, teamwork and a love for the outdoors. The camp runs Monday, June 1, through Friday, July 31.\u00a0Drop off is 8 to 9 a.m., with camp day activities beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m. Camper pick-up is from 4 to 6 p.m.<\/p>\n The Early Learning Center will host its summer Camp Rockets<\/a> program from Monday, June 1, through Friday, Aug. 21. Designed for children ages 6 to 10, as well as 5-year-olds who have completed kindergarten, the camp features weekly themes \u2014 including nature exploration, arts and crafts, team-building and science experiments \u2014 along with field trips that bring each theme to life. Priority enrollment is available for UToledo faculty, staff and students and current Early Learning Center families. Space is limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-registration is now open, and families can complete an interest form to be considered.<\/p>\n UToledo Athletics will also host a multitude of camps for various age groups and sports. <\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022\u00a0 The men\u2019s basketball team will host a series of four-day UToledo Basketball Kids Camps, Session 1<\/a>, Session 2<\/a> and Session 3<\/a>, for kids going into third grade through eighth grade. The dates for these camps are Monday, June 8, through Thursday, June 11; Monday, June 22, through Thursday, June 25; and Monday, July 27, through Thursday, July 30. The women\u2019s team will also hold two camps, Kids Day Camps<\/a> from Monday, June 15, through Thursday, June 18, and a Little Dribblers Camp<\/a> from Monday, July 20, through Thursday, July 23.<\/p>\n \u2022\u00a0 UToledo Women\u2019s Rocket Soccer Summer Day Camp: Session 1<\/a>, from Monday, June 1, through Friday, June 5, and Session 2<\/a>, from Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12, are for kids in third through eighth grade and provide youth soccer players the opportunity to learn from and interact with Division I student-athletes and coaches, all in a collective effort to develop their soccer skills while having fun.<\/p>\n \u2022\u00a0 UToledo Women\u2019s Rocket Soccer Summer Day Camp: Mini Kickers Session 1<\/a>, from Monday, June 1, through Friday, June 5, and Session 2<\/a>, from Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12, are for kids in kindergarten through second grade.<\/p>\n \u2022\u00a0 The volleyball team is also hosting three camps: a Skills Clinic<\/a> on Wednesday, July 8, and Thursday, July 9; a Junior Rocket Camp<\/a> from Monday, July 13, through Wednesday, July 15; and a Youth Camp from Monday, July 13, through Wednesday, July 15. Registration for all athletics camps closes at midnight the day before the start date.<\/p>\n
