Early childhood education is the foundation for lifelong learning, and our team is committed to providing high-quality experiences that support each child\u2019s academic, social and emotional growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The ELC serves UToledo students, faculty and staff, as well as families throughout the broader Toledo community, providing high-quality early care and education in a nurturing, academically rich environment.<\/p>\n<p>The center also functions as a practicum site for multiple UToledo academic programs, giving students across disciplines hands-on training alongside young learners \u2014 a dual mission that enriches both child development and higher education.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-99049\" src=\"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/gold-SUTQ.png\" alt=\"The Ohio Step Up to Quality Gold Award medal graphic.\" width=\"192\" height=\"263\" \/>The ELC also hosts school-age children from June through August for Camp Rockets.
