The MAC ALDP brings together faculty leaders from institutions across the Mid-American Conference for workshops, discussions and collaborative learning experiences centered on leadership in higher education. Participants engage with university administrators and peers throughout the academic year while exploring current issues facing universities.<\/p>\n
As part of the program, the UToledo cohort completed a collaborative project examining how The University of Toledo attained and continues to sustain its Carnegie R1 research designation. Their work explored the institutional culture, infrastructure and long-term commitments necessary to support high levels of research activity and doctoral education.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe strength of this year\u2019s cohort came not only from their individual accomplishments, but from the wide range of perspectives they brought to conversations about leadership, institutional growth and the future of research universities,\u201d said Dr. Jeanne Kusina, UToledo\u2019s institutional liaison to the MAC ALDP. \u201cTheir project reflected both a strong understanding of UToledo\u2019s research mission and a thoughtful consideration of what it takes to sustain excellence over time.\u201d<\/p>\n
