With identity theft and phishing crimes on the rise, The University of Toledo has introduced a new multifactor authentication to strengthen and expand security protection for UToledo faculty, staff and students. Multifactor authentication is now required technology by most federal regulators, as well as the State of Ohio cyber insurance policy that covers UToledo.

An upgrade from previous authentication software, the new advanced security process protects not only the University’s data but also the personal information of the campus community.

The multifactor authentication protection provides an additional layer of protection to the sign-in process, with users required to provide identity verification before they can access accounts or applications.

UToledo staff, faculty and students will need to signup/enroll via the UToledo Information Technology multifactor authentication instructions webpage. Rockets can use the user-friendly platform app on your phone. There also is an option that prompts a phone call that requires you to press the pound key to verify your identification.
