Rockets to host first-round MAC Tourney doubleheader March 6

The University of Toledo will host a pair of first-round Mid-American Conference Tournament games at Savage Arena Monday, March 6.

The Rocket women will play Akron at 5:30 p.m., while the men will host Bowling Green at 8 p.m.

The Toledo men are 16-15, 9-9 MAC, and have the No. 7 seed in the MAC Tournament. Bowling Green is 13-17, 7-11 MAC, and seeded No. 10. The winner of the Toledo-Bowling Green game Monday will advance to the quarterfinals of the MAC Tournament and face the No. 2 seed (opponent TBA) Thursday at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.

The first-round opponent for the Rocket women will be announced following Saturday’s regular-season finale at Ball State (2 p.m. tip-off). If Toledo (20-8, 11-6 MAC) wins its first-round game Monday, it will advance to the MAC Tournament quarterfinals Wednesday.

Tickets and parking for the first-round MAC Tournament games are included as part of all season-ticket packages, so season-ticket holders do not need to purchase tickets for Monday’s games. UT students are admitted free with their ID.

Fans who are not season-ticket holders may purchase tickets online here, by phone or at the UT Athletic Ticket Office. One ticket is good for both games. The Joe Grogan Room will open for the games Monday beginning at 4 p.m.

Pre-orders for MAC Tournament games in Cleveland are being taken for UT season-ticket holders and Rocket Fund donors. Pre-ordered tickets can be reserved by calling 419.530.GOLD (4653) by Monday, March 6, at 4 p.m. Pre–ordered tickets will be picked up at the UT Will Call table at Quicken Loans Arena. UT students may purchase specially priced tickets by showing their Rocket ID at the UT Athletic Ticket Office or at the UT Will Call table at Quicken Loans Arena.  One ID per student, one ticket per ID.
