The game will be a benefit for former UT women’s basketball player Ashlee Barrett, who is battling leukemia.

The theme for the game is “Faith Not Fear,” which has been Barrett’s motto as she has battled the disease over the past year. She is engaged to former Rocket football player Ben Pike, who attended Mentor High School.

“Ashlee’s courage throughout her ordeal has been an inspiration for our football team,” said UT Head Football Coach Matt Campbell. “We want to do anything we can to help her and Ben, so moving the practice to Ben’s high school seemed like a great idea. It will be a very special practice for our team. Ashlee has been in all our thoughts and prayers a lot lately, but will be even more so on Friday.”

Admission to the scrimmage is free, but donations for Barrett will be accepted at the game.

Mentor High School is located at 6477 Center St. in Mentor, Ohio. It is located about 25 miles east of Cleveland, about a two-hour-and-15-minute drive from Toledo.

Donations for Barrett also may be dropped off or mailed to:
