The Muslim Student Association, Students Organize for Syria and Mu Delta Alpha are organizing a fundraising dinner Wednesday, April 19, in the Thompson Student Union Ingman Room from 7 to 9 p.m. to support victims of the recent earthquakes in Syria and Turkey.
The event will feature games, cultural activities and food. Admission is free but donations are appreciated, with all proceeds going directly to organizations helping those still affected by the earthquakes.
“We want to make sure that people know, that just because the earthquake is out of the new cycle, doesn’t mean the need for help has suddenly stopped,” said Hoda Elahinia, a freshman studying history and English, who is the Mu Delta Alpha events coordinator. “There is still a tremendous need for financial assistance that will continue for years, and we wanted to do our small part to help.”
