Stephen Neff and Lisa Neff-Ryave help unveil a monument recognizing the John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation with the help of Dean Anne Balazs and UToledo President Gregory Postel.

The new monument, unveiled at an event May 5 outside Stranahan Hall, recognizes the business college named in Neff’s honor for his family’s generous $18.7 million in gifts to UToledo.

A well-respected mutual fund investor, Neff received his bachelor’s degree in industrial marketing in 1955 from UToledo, where he also met his wife, Lillian. Neff died in 2019, at the age of 87, and his wife preceded him in death in 2017.

“We are proud to name the college in Mr. Neff’s honor and look forward to the impact that connecting his legacy more closely to our business programs will have on generations to come,” Postel said.
