‘The Relevant University’ to air May 22

Tune in to “The Relevant University” Tuesday, May 22, at 7 p.m. on AM 760 WJR.

This month, Lawrence J. Burns, UT vice president for external affairs, explores Toledo’s relationships with China and the value of international partnerships.

In this episode:

• Toledo Mayor Mike Bell shares his efforts to attract Chinese investment to the city as part of his economic development efforts.

• Paul Zito, vice president for international development for the Regional Growth Partnership, talks about U.S. competition for international investment.

• The University of Toledo’s Sammy Spann, assistant provost for international studies and programs, discusses UT’s partnerships with China and the importance of international experiences for college students.

• And Marc Ross, director of communications for the U.S.-China Business Council, provides information about American investment in China.

The University and Detroit’s WJR Radio produce the monthly, hourlong program that explores the critical role higher education plays in our world.
