Find out what can be seen in area skies and learn how women contributed to the field of astronomy. Check out programs at UT’s Ritter Planetarium in June.
On Friday, June 5 and June 12, at 8:30 p.m., Ritter Planetarium will host Summer Skies Over Toledo. It is an interactive program to view stars, constellations and planets while examining ancient constellation mythologies, the search for life on Mars, and the study of extra-solar planets.
Ritter Planetarium’s second program in June is Women in Astronomy. On Friday, June 19 and June 26, at 8:30 p.m., participants will have the chance to learn of the contributions women have made to astronomy because they were often left out of astronomical history.
Observing at Ritter Observatory will follow the June 5 program; observing at Brooks Observatory will follow all other programs, weather permitting.
Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for children 3 and older and senior citizens, and free for children 2 and younger.
