Butterflies, Asian carp topic of talks

The Lake Erie Center is sponsoring two talks next week.

Naturalist Jackie Riley will give a presentation titled “Butterflies of Northwest Ohio” Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m. Following her talk, an outdoor field session will take place.

Dr. Patrick Kocovsky, research fishery biologist with the U.S. Geological Survey, will discuss “Are Lake Erie Habitats Suitable for Asian Carp?” Thursday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m.

Both of the free, public events will take place in Lake Erie Center Room 155.

The center is located at 6200 Bayshore Road in Oregon.
