UT volleyball match to be televised Oct. 3

The Toledo women’s volleyball match vs. Ball State Thursday, Oct. 3, in Savage Arena will be televised live on Time Warner Cable Sports as well as ESPN3 as part of the Mid-American Conference’s 2013 television package.

The contest will air at 7 p.m. on the TWC Sports Channel in Ohio and parts of upstate New York and also be televised by Comcast Indiana as well as Buckeye Cable System locally.

It will be the first time the Rockets’ women’s volleyball program will have a match televised on a regional sports network.

Several promotions are being held for the match; these include free admission to all UT faculty and staff members with their UT ID. In addition, all UT students wearing blue at the match will receive a $5 gift card to Rocky’s Locker.

Local volleyball teams also are encouraged to attend as part of Team/Club Night with groups of 10 of more able to purchase tickets for $2 each. To receive this special price, groups must be present together at the UT Ticket Office at the time of purchase.

The Rockets also will host Akron Saturday, Oct. 5, at 7:30 p.m. following the UT football team’s Homecoming game vs. Western Michigan at 3 p.m. All fans with a Toledo-WMU football ticket stub will be admitted free to the volleyball match that evening.

Time Warner Cable Sports Channel is a 24/7 sports network that carries distinct regional programming on different channel location across the nation. Time Warner Cable Sports also partners with the Los Angeles Lakers, LA Galaxy, Los Angeles Sparks, FC Dallas (Major League Soccer), University of Kansas Athletics, Syracuse University Sports and others to televise live games and non-game programming.
