Sustainability expert to speak Nov. 6

Dr. David Hassenzahl, an internationally recognized scholar of sustainability and risk analysis and the author of dozens of publications on these subjects, is bringing his expertise to The University of Toledo community.

Hassenzahl, founding dean of the School of Sustainability and the Environment at Chatham University, will speak Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 4 p.m. in Bowman-Oddy Laboratories Room 1045.

The “Sustainability as an Organizing Principle” seminar is hosted by the UT Department of Environmental Sciences.

Hassenzahl’s seminar will include discussion of climate change, transportation, nuclear waste, casino buffets, alligators, coastal dead zones, and campus heating, as well as sustainability in Las Vegas and at Chatham University’s three Pittsburgh campus locations.

Before his seminar, Hassenzahl will be available to answer questions from students interested in the field. He will talk with graduate students at 2 p.m. and undergraduate students at 3 p.m. in Bowman-Oddy Laboratories Room 2025.
