“Dr. Barlowe has a long history of faculty leadership,” said Dr. William McMillen, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. “Her efforts in Faculty Senate, her leadership coordinating the recalibration of UT’s strategic plan, and her time as associate dean make her the right choice during a difficult time for the college.”
Barlowe earned her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and master’s and doctoral degrees from Ohio State University.
“The degree programs of the College of Languages, Literature and Social Sciences play a vital role at The University of Toledo, and our graduates are leaders in the careers they pursue,” Barlowe said. “I think the best tribute we can make to Alice is to ensure this new college maintains its strong foundation.”
