toledo-helmetThe University of Toledo has broken the record for football season tickets sales, eclipsing the all-time school record of 11,005 set last year, according to Deputy Athletic Director Mike Karabin. As of Monday, the Rockets had sold approximately 11,050 season tickets.

Season ticket sales were again bolstered this season by the Ultimate Fan Plan packages. Approximately 4,800 Ultimate Fan Plans have been sold, with about 500 remaining; 4,500 Ultimate Fan Plans were sold in 2010.

“We expect to keep selling season tickets right up until our second game against Boise State on Sept. 16,” Karabin said. “Our final season ticket number could end up being substantially higher than 11,000.”

The Rockets open their season at home Thursday, Sept. 1, against New Hampshire before traveling to Ohio State on Sept. 10. Then No. 5 Boise State will invade the Glass Bowl Friday, Sept. 16. Tickets for both the New Hampshire and Boise State games are still available.
