President to Hold Town Hall Discussions on Strategic Plan

Following his State of the University Address to campus this week, President Gregory Postel will hold a series of town hall meetings to continue the discussion on the future of The University of Toledo.

The town halls will take place on both campuses and focus on the new strategic plan, titled UToledo Reimagined, that will guide the University’s trajectory for the next five years.

Postel will deliver his State of the University Address 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, in Doermann Theatre in University Hall, and the town halls will take place on two dates later this month.

The campus community is invited to participate in the discussions on:

•  Friday, April 21, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Health Education Building Room 105 on Health Science Campus and from 4 to 5 p.m. in Stranahan Hall Room 131 on Main Campus.

•  Thursday, April 27, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Stranahan Hall Room 131 on Main Campus and from 4 to 5 p.m. in Collier Building Room 1200 on Health Science Campus.

Postel will discuss the strategic plan and then be available to answer questions.

The strategic plan, approved Feb. 8 by the UToledo Board of Trustees, includes six goals:

•  Ensure Student Success From Recruitment Through Graduation

•  Deliver Relevant and Innovative Academic Programs

•  Set the Standard for Health Education and Patient Care

•  Distinguish UToledo Regionally, Nationally and Internationally

•  Foster a People-Centered Culture

•  Position UToledo for Future Success Through Financial and Operational Effectiveness

The University’s mission, vision and value statements also were updated as part of the strategic planning process.
