As spring semester comes to an end, University Wellness is continuing to support UToledo employees with several opportunities to engage in wellness throughout the month of May.
Rocket Recharge aims to assist in rejuvenating the personal well-being of UToledo faculty and staff by providing a variety of stress-reducing and educational activities Monday through Friday, May 8-12, on Health Science and Main campuses. Participants can do things like join the mid-day movement breaks, yoga or attend a virtual educational presentation and prevention screenings.
The Sun-sational Summer Challenge is a virtual challenge that kicks off for employees on Monday, May 22. Using the Wellable platform, participants will earn points for tracking physical activity and completing Summer Safety Quizzes.
“The focus of the events is to provide an opportunity for employees to move their bodies, connect with others and learn strategies to improve their well-being.” said Andrea Masters, associate director of University Wellness and Health Promotion. “We recognize the hard work our UToledo faculty and staff have done throughout the semester; we look forward to offering these opportunities.”
All activities require registration; some have limited availability. For more information including times and to register for these free events, go to the University Wellness website.
Also, join the UToledo Team on Sunday, May 21, at the Glass Bowl to improve the health of our community. In the past, funds raised from the Heart Walk have led to scientific breakthroughs along with funding our own researchers here at UToledo to keep people alive longer. There is still time to support the American Heart Association and be a part of this year’s walk. For more information on how to register for the UToledo or create your own team, visit the American Heart Association website.
