The Toledo women’s volleyball program has earned its 23rd straight USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award, the American Volleyball Coaches Association recently announced.
The AVCA honors volleyball programs that maintain a yearlong grade point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.
Toledo, Bowling Green (23) and Indiana State (25) are the only three Division I schools that have won the AVCA Team Academic Award for at least 23 straight seasons.
The Rockets, who have a history of strong academic performance, posted a 3.522 team GPA last fall and a 3.576 team GPA in the spring. They also placed seven student-athletes on the Academic All-MAC squad last fall: Taylor Alt, Jada Bouyer, Claire Eiden, Ryann Jaqua, Payton Morman, Abby Ray and Olivia Vance.
