The University of Toledo men’s basketball program’s 2023-24 schedule is now complete with the release of its 18-game Mid-American Conference slate by the league office. The conference office will release a full men’s basketball television schedule at a later date, with games on Saturday potentially being moved to Friday night.

The three-time defending MAC champion Rockets will open their conference campaign on the road at Ohio on Tuesday, Jan. 2, and will play their first MAC home game vs. Miami on Saturday, Jan. 6. Toledo will open its season at home vs. Detroit Mercy on Monday, Nov. 6. In addition to the Titans, the Rockets will also host Louisiana (Nov. 11), George Mason (Dec. 2), Northern Iowa (Dec. 9), Marshall (Dec. 13) and Vermont (Dec. 20) in Savage Arena.
The Rockets will face each conference school twice with the exception of Ball State, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan, who they will play one time each. UT will host the Cardinals (Jan. 13) and Broncos (Jan. 30) in Savage Arena and visit the Chippewas (Jan. 20) and Eagles (Feb. 6).
Toledo also will host Buffalo (Jan. 16), Bowling Green (Jan. 27), Ohio (Feb. 17), Akron (Feb. 20), Northern Illinois (Feb. 27) and Kent State (March 8) in Savage Arena.
The MAC Tournament will be held on Thursday-Saturday, March 14-16, in Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
Toledo made history last year under 2022-23 MAC Coach of the Year Tod Kowalczyk by becoming the first current MAC school to win three consecutive outright league titles. The Rockets tied a school record with their 27-8 overall mark and posted a 16-2 ledger in league play. Toledo has posted a 74-35 record over the last three years with its 74 victories ranking 13th in the nation during this stretch.
UT returns the junior starting guard tandem of Dante Maddox Jr. and Ra’Heim Moss as well as junior Tyler Cochran, junior Andre Lorentsson and redshirt freshman Javan Simmons. Five freshmen are joining the team, along with William & Mary transfer Ben Wight (10.9 ppg, 5.2 apg).
