UToledo Celebrates LGBTQA+ History Month Through October

The Office of Multicultural Student Success (OMSS), in collaboration with the student organization Sexuality and Gender Alliance and the Catharine S. Eberly Center for Women, is again leading the charge to highlight the history and contributions of the LGBTQA+ community within the University and beyond through the month of October.

Campus events and activities for LGBTQA+ History Month include:

•  Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m. – Loving Your Queerness; Coming Out Day photo shoot in Thompson Student Union Room 2500 (OMSS).

•  Friday, Oct. 13, from noon to 3 p.m. – Safe Place Training in Thompson Student Union Room 2500 (OMSS). For more information and to register, visit the Safe Place website.

•  Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. – International Pronouns Day tabling in Trimble Lounge.

•  Thursday, Oct. 19, at 4 p.m. – LGBTQA+ Alumni Affiliate Tie Dye Mixer at BREW coffee bar.

•  Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. – SAGA Halloween Party in Thompson Student Union Room 3022.

•  Saturday, Oct. 28, at 8 p.m. – “The Rocky Horror Show LIVE” at Collingwood Arts Center, 2413 Collingwood Blvd. in Toledo.

•  Monday, Oct. 30, from 2 to 5 p.m. – Safe Place Training in Thompson Student Union Room 2500 (OMSS). For more information and to register, visit the Safe Place website.

LGBTQA+ History Month demonstrates a continued dedication to inclusivity, diversity, and education by celebrating the achievements and contributions of the LGBTQA+ community. The Office of Multicultural Student Success also has a list of LGBTQA+ History Month resources online as well as a site devoted to the campus celebrations of LGBTQA+ History Month and all History and Heritage Months.
