A virtual professional development workshop on workplace bias and intervention for UToledo faculty and staff is scheduled Thursday, Oct. 26.
“Speaking Up: An innovative, Interactive Approach to Bias Awareness and Intervention in the Workplace” is a unique, evidence-based professional development model to build bystander skills and respond effectively to bias.
Sponsored by the Office of the President, Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Community Engagement and Strategic Partnerships, and the Office of the Provost, the virtual workshop runs from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
“Our new UToledo Strategic Plan includes Goal 5: Foster a people-centered culture, where all students, faculty and staff feel included and a sense of belonging,” said Dr. Dilip Das, vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion. “In a world filled with conflict and enmity, we need solid tools and reminders that our work and study and research spaces must default to professionalism, civility and kindness.”
Registration is required to attend. To RSVP, visit the event’s registration website.
