The University of Toledo men’s golf program has four student-athletes on the Academic All-MAC team, the league office announced on Monday. The Rockets’ four honorees marks the sixth-straight season that four or more Toledo golfers have been honored.
Graduate student NJ Botha received Academic All-MAC honors for a fourth time, while seniors Barend Botha and Jamie Tofte Nielsen were recognized for a third time. Graduate student Palmer Yenrick was honored for the second time in his collegiate career.
All four Rockets possess a grade-point average of 3.7 or higher. NJ Botha is leading the Rockets with a 3.875 grade point average.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
