Free flu shots for faculty, staff and students will be available on Main and Health Science campuses beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 1.

On Health Science Campus, vaccines will be available at the outpatient pharmacy in The University of Toledo Medical Center Medical Pavilion on Tuesdays from 7 a.m. to noon; on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to noon; on Thursdays from 2 to 6 p.m.; and on Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon.

Additional pop-up flu shot clinics will be hosted on both campuses throughout October and November. A full schedule of all on-campus vaccination events is available on the University’s Flu Prep website.

UToledo requires an annual influenza vaccine for all on-campus students and employees who are not represented by a bargaining unit, as well as all UToledo Health healthcare workers at the hospital and clinics.

Proof of vaccination for those required by the University to receive an annual flu shot must be provided prior to Sunday, Dec. 1.

Employees and students who get their flu vaccine on campus will have their proof of vaccination uploaded automatically. Those who receive a flu shot off campus must upload their proof of vaccination through the University’s Vaccine Registry Portal.

Individuals may request an exemption from UToledo’s flu vaccine requirement for documented medical contraindications or sincerely held religious beliefs. Exemption request forms are available on the Vaccine Registry Portal and must be submitted by the end of the day on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Appointments are not required to receive a flu vaccine on campus, but students and employees do need to complete a consent form, available at influenza.utoledo.edu, prior to getting their shot.

Additional information about the flu shot and UToledo’s influenza vaccine requirement is available on the University’s Flu Prep website.
