The Judith Herb College of Education Office of the Dean/Office of Student Services took first-place honors in the Homecoming Office Decorating Competition and will be receiving the competition’s traveling trophy.
This year’s theme was “Welcome to the Jungle,” a tribute to the untamed spirit that defines every Rocket, and the competition was judged by the Campus Activities and Programming Board, with winners announced during Saturday’s Homecoming game.
A total of 16 offices from across the University participated in this year’s competition, with second place awarded to the Center for Advocacy and Student Experience, and a third-place tie between the Office of Marketing & Communications and Office of Residence Life.
“The Campus Activities and Programming Board was excited to see so much interest in participating in the office decorating competition from offices,” said Bailey Mitchell, president of the Campus Activities and Programming Board. “The offices went above and beyond for this year’s theme, ‘Welcome to the Jungle,’ that it was extremely difficult for our judges to decide on the winners this year.
“We are happy that we could provide this opportunity for faculty and staff to join in the fun of the homecoming celebration and create exciting spaces for the student body.”
The winning office will be receiving the traveling trophy.
Last year’s first-place winner was The University of Toledo Police Department.
