UToledo Celebrates National Transfer Student Week Oct. 21-25

The University of Toledo will celebrate its transfer students with five days of campus events, Monday, Oct. 21, through Friday, Oct. 25, as part of National Transfer Student Week.

National Transfer Student Week, which runs from Monday, Oct. 21, through Friday, Oct. 25, is an annual event held at universities nationwide to celebrate transfer students and to raise awareness of the unique challenges and opportunities presented by transferring to a new university.

•  Monday, Oct. 21, Tau Sigma Interest Session — 3:30 pm Thompson Student Union Room 2562. Come learn about the only national honor society dedicated to transfer students. Get your questions answered, meet members of the UToledo chapter and win a door prize.

•  Tuesday, Oct. 22, Crafternoon with the Eberly Center — from 1 to 3 p.m. Eberly Center. Join the Eberly Center for an afternoon of drop-in crafting. We will have materials for making friendship bracelets, painting and canvas, and journal decorating.

•  Wednesday, Oct. 23, Transfer Advantage Resume Workshop — 2 p.m. Thompson Student Union Room 2591. Join us for a discussion about how to make the most of your experience as a transfer student when applying for jobs and internships. Geoffrey Humphrys, assistant director of the Shah Center for Engineering Career Development, will present the discussion and be available for questions from student across all majors.

•  Thursday, Oct. 24, Lawn Games — from 3 to 5 p.m. at Centennial Mall. Join your transfer community to play cornhole and other lawn games outside the Student Union near the fountain. Stick around a while to work on a UToledo chalk mural as well.

•  Friday, Oct. 25, Transfer Resource Scavenger Hunt — from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Main Campus. Take selfies with different resources across campus to enter a raffle for some great prizes. More information to follow on Invonet.
