The University of Toledo and UToledo Online will feature a series of events for students, faculty and staff to celebrate and promote online learning for National Distance Learning Week, Monday, Nov. 4, through Friday, Nov. 8.
UToledo Online provides infrastructure and support services for online and blended teaching and learning across the UToledo community.
The schedule of events will include an information day to spread awareness of online learning; a series of faculty workshops in educational technologies such as EchoVideo and Ultra Course View; and instructional design webinars on quality assurance, AI and accessibility in online course design. The week will conclude with an online student appreciation day with random prize drawings for current online students.
National Distance Learning Week also will feature a faculty appreciation event to celebrate and recognize those involved in new online course and program development, professional development initiatives and those who have achieved Quality Matters course certification.
“Our UToledo Online faculty have continued to excel in providing effective learning environments for our students and faculty, contributing to the successful completion of online coursework,” said Dr. Scott Molitor, interim provost and executive vice president for academic affairs.
“The University of Toledo has provided high-quality online learning for more than 25 years,” said Dr. Barbara Kopp Miller, vice provost for UToledo Online. “National Distance Learning Week gives us an opportunity to raise awareness of online learning and recognize the efforts of UToledo Online faculty and staff that provide our students with the most successful online learning experience possible.”
