University to Close for Winter Break Dec. 24-Jan. 1

As a reminder, The University of Toledo will close for the annual winter break from Tuesday, Dec. 24, through Wednesday, Jan. 1, at a time when most departments are slower than usual and to give our faculty and staff time to rest and rejuvenate for the new year.

Access to buildings will be restricted, and facility operations and ground maintenance also will be limited during the break. The University of Toledo Medical Center and its operations will remain open for patients and their guests.

The end of the semester and winter break also brings new hours and temporary closures of on-campus services through the holidays.

Beginning Wednesday, Dec. 11, the Smoothie Lab at Thompson Student Union is now closed through winter break. Frogtown Café and the Paper Lantern at Thompson Student Union will close for winter break beginning Thursday, Dec. 12, as will Erbert & Gerberts at Ottawa East.

Beginning Friday, Dec. 13, dining options at Thompson Student Union are Chick-fil-A, Delicious Without, The Eatery, The Market and True Burger; and Starbucks at Carlson Library and Freshens at North Engineering Building. Each location will have reduced hours and will be closed for commencement weekend.

Beginning Monday, Dec. 16, the only on-campus dining options are Chick-fil-A at Thompson Student Union and Starbucks at Carlson Library, both with reduced hours, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., respectively.

Starbucks at Carlson Library also will be open on Monday, Dec. 23, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Student Recreation Center will be closed Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 14 and 15; reopen Monday through Monday, Dec. 16-23, with special hours: weekdays from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and close again for winter break, from Tuesday, Dec. 24, through Wednesday, Jan. 1.

The Student Recreation Center will reopen Thursday, Jan. 2, with special hours through Sunday, Jan. 12: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., weekdays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekends.

The Student Recreation Center will return to normal hours on Monday, Jan. 13, with the first day of classes for spring semester, and will have special hours on Martin Luther King Jr. Day Monday, Jan. 20, from noon to 10 p.m.

The Morse Fitness Center on Health Science Campus will be closed for winter break on Wednesday, Dec. 25.

Carlson Library will be closed on commencement, Saturday, Dec. 14, as well as Sunday, Dec. 15, and will have reduced hours of operation, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, Dec. 16-20, and Monday, Dec. 23. The library will be closed the weekend of Dec. 21 and 22.

Carlson Library will close Tuesday, Dec. 24, for winter break and reopen Thursday, Jan. 2, with limited hours, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., through Friday, Jan. 3, and Monday, Jan. 6, through Friday, Jan. 10. The library also will be closed the weekends of Jan. 4 and 5 and Jan. 11 and 12.

Carlson Library will resume normal hours the first day of spring semester classes, Monday, Jan. 13, and will be closed Monday, Jan. 20, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The Main Campus Pharmacy, the pharmacy located in the Comprehensive Care Center on Glendale Avenue and the outpatient pharmacy in The University of Toledo Medical Center Medical Pavilion will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24, Wednesday, Dec. 25, Thursday, Dec. 26, and Wednesday, Jan. 1.

The pharmacies will be open with regular business hours for the rest of winter break.
