Seven members of the Toledo football team have been named to the College Sports Communicators’ (CSC) 2024 Academic All-District Squad.
Michael Denning, Emilio Duran, Carter Fouty, Maxen Hook, Anthony Torres, Connor Walendzak and Grant Zimmerly were all honored by the CSC on Tuesday.
Hook made the Academic All-District team for the third consecutive season. He also earned second-team Academic All-America honors in 2023. Torres made Academic All-District for the second time.
The 2024 Academic All-District Football teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
A sub-committee reviewed all Academic All-District honorees to prepare the Academic All-America ballot. Hook and Torres were selected and will be on the national ballot for CSC Academic All-America, which will be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced Tuesday, Jan. 28.
