UToledo Health Pharmacy Leader Honored by Industry Publication

Holly Smith, director of ambulatory care pharmacy at UToledo Health, was named this month as one of six pharmacy executives to watch by American Healthcare Leader.

Smith, who holds both a pharmacy degree and an M.B.A. from The University of Toledo, joined UToledo Health in 2012 as manager of the Medical Pavilion Pharmacy at The University of Toledo Medical Center.

She has been in her current position since 2018, overseeing four outpatient pharmacies, UToledo Health’s ambulatory care pharmacy services, UTMC’s 340B program and the University’s employee prescription benefits program.

Smith was recognized by the magazine for her development and implementation of UToledo Health’s transition of care program, which delivers discharge medications and provides patient education before an admitted patient leaves hospital, and her work to expand pharmacy services by positioning ambulatory pharmacists within all UToledo Health clinics.
