The University of Toledo is welcoming a director of undergraduate recruitment to develop and implement the institution’s student recruitment plans and lead the recruitment team.
Sarah Shepherd, an enrollment leader with experience in student recruitment, advising and admissions, joined UToledo on May 12.

Throughout her career, Shepherd has worked with domestic and international students both in admissions and in program management for English as a Second Language (ESL) programs, gaining a broad understanding of enrollment management and experience in event planning and visitor experience, marketing and student outreach.
“We are excited to have Sarah on our team and look forward to gaining even more momentum from her insights and experiences,” said Tony Bourne, vice president for strategic enrollment management. “Sarah is bringing a valuable additional perspective to UToledo Enrollment Management. The University will benefit from her leadership over undergraduate recruitment.”
“I am incredibly excited to return to The University of Toledo,” said Shepherd, who is a UToledo alumna, earning a Master of Education in higher education and administration as a Rocket. “This University gave me opportunity, mentorship and lifelong connections. Now, I get to give back by helping future students find their path here. Here is to new beginnings in a familiar place.”
Prior to joining UToledo, Shepherd served in admissions roles at the University of Cincinnati, Appalachian State University and Wright State University.
She most recently was an academic advisor for the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College. She also held positions of director of admissions at Wright State University, director of admissions, first-year and international at Appalachian State University and served the University of Cincinnati as a program manager of the accelerated college English program and senior admissions counselor.
Shepherd also has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Bowling Green State University and graduate certificate in marketing from the University of Cincinnati.
