The University of Toledo and The Blade will present a panel discussion on tariffs and trade, particularly the impact of policies enacted under President Donald Trump, on Wednesday, June 11. The panel continues the thought leadership series Perspectives.
UToledo’s Dr. Elizabeth Napier will join four national and international panelists in “Perspectives: Tariffs and Trade in the Modern Age” at 6 p.m. in UToledo’s Doermann Theatre. Event parking is free in Area 1N.
Attendees are asked to register for the free, public event online through The Blade.
The panel will be moderated by David Shribman, a Pulitzer Prize-winning, nationally syndicated columnist and executive editor emeritus of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Panelists are:
• Andrew Enns, who brings a decade of government experience to his role as executive vice-president of the Canadian market research firm Leger.
• Michael Koralewski, chief supply chain officer for First Solar. Koralewski has worked for more than two decades in global manufacturing within the energy and auto sectors.
• Jim Meil, a leading industrial sector economist and planner currently directing analysis and predictions of the national and global economies at Americas Commercial Transportation (ACT) Research Co.
• Dr. Elizabeth Napier, associate professor of marketing and international business in UToledo’s John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation.
• Mark Sniderman, an expert on macroeconomics and financial regulation and former executive vice president and chief policy officer for the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.
Perspectives, launched by UToledo and The Blade in 2024, is a series of events in which national panelists discuss a variety of topics alongside UToledo experts.
