UToledo Online is proud to announce a full week of events in honor of National Distance Learning Week (NDLW) from Monday, Nov. 3, through Friday, Nov. 7. As part of a national initiative in partnership with the National Distance Learning Association, UToledo is inviting students, faculty and staff to discover best practices, celebrate achievements and engage with the evolving world of online education.
Early registration for some events is requested via the UToledo Online NDLW website.
Highlights of the Week:
Monday, Nov. 3 — Kick-off Day: Discover UToledo Online
Join us at Thompson Student Union food court from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to connect with UToledo Online staff and spin the prize wheel for UToledo Online swag.
Tuesday, Nov. 4 — Faculty Appreciation Day
We’ll shine a spotlight on the talented faculty and staff who innovate and teach in our online programs. Watch your inbox for invitations to a recognition event honoring course developers, professional development leaders and those who’ve earned Quality Matters certifications.
Wednesday, Nov. 5 — Blackboard Day
UToledo Online is excited to bring Blackboard representatives to campus for an exclusive one-day series of faculty workshops. Session topics include accessibility with Ally, Ultra Gradebook, Ultra Test development and more. A Lunch & Learn session will provide a peek at the future roadmap for Blackboard. Spots are limited (60 per session); registration is required by Wednesday, Oct. 29.
Thursday, Nov. 6 — Instructional Design Day
This day celebrates innovation in online teaching through webinars led by UToledo’s instructional design team and faculty. Topics span course quality, AI integration, engagement strategies, accessibility and more. Registration is open until Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Friday, Nov. 7 — Online Student Appreciation Day
Our online learners are at the heart of what we do. To show our gratitude, upcoming online graduates will receive a UToledo flag in the mail as a token of Rocket pride and belonging — no matter where they’ve learned.
