The University of Toledo Ritter Planetarium will present two programs in May: “Messengers of Time and Space” and “Did an Asteroid Really Kill the Dinosaurs?”
“Messengers of Time and Space” explores the dynamic cosmos, illuminating an imminent revolution in astronomy that allows researchers to capture exploding stars, colliding black holes and other cosmic cataclysms in real time.
It will screen at 8:30 p.m. Fridays through May 29.
“Did an Asteroid Really Kill the Dinosaurs?” examines the mystery of the great extinction 65 million years ago, following geologists as they search for clues leading to the massive impact from space in the Yucatan Peninsula.
It will screen at 1 p.m. Saturdays through May 30.
Admission to all public programs is $8 for adults and $6 for children, seniors and UToledo community members.
Children ages 3 and younger are free. Parking is free in Area 1N within 45 minutes of the beginning of planetarium shows.
