The Toledo women’s cross country team had seven student-athletes earn Academic All-MAC honors, the conference recently announced. Seniors Lou Trois (3.934), Emily Vining (3.932), and Madeline Vining (3.917) led the team with the highest GPAs.

Fifth-year senior Claire Steigerwald earned Academic All-MAC honors for a fourth time, while the Vining sisters were named to the Academic All-MAC squad for a third time in their careers. Junior Julia Dames was honored for the second time in her career.

Toledo’s men also had seven Academic All-MAC honorees to give the Rockets a total number of 14 honorees. Ohio led the way with 17 Academic All-MAC honorees.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
