Ross earns the honor for the first time in her Rocket career.

A Spanish and Spanish education major with a 3.90 grade-point average, Ross started 10 of 18 matches this past fall. She saw at least 40 minutes of match action on seven occasions, including a season-high 51 minutes against Atlantic 10 power Dayton.

In the classroom, Ross has been a member of the UT’s dean’s list each of the last six semesters, including a perfect 4.0 GPA in fall 2010, spring 2011 and fall 2012.

The Academic All-MAC Team is the result of voting by the faculty athletic representatives at MAC institutions. A total of 36 student-athletes were named to the team.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.

First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
