Former Rocket running back named North team’s Most Outstanding Player in Senior Bowl

Former Toledo running back Kareem Hunt ran for 118 yards on 15 carries and was named the North’s Most Outstanding Player at the 2017 Reese’s Senior Bowl Jan. 28 in Mobile, Ala.

Hunt had runs of 43, 20 and 18 yards and also caught an 11-yard pass.

The South defeated the North, 16-15, in the 68th annual contest, which was played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, the site of one of Hunt’s greatest games as a Rocket. Hunt rushed for a career-best 271 yards and five touchdowns as a sophomore in a 63-44 victory at the GoDaddy Bowl Jan. 4, 2015.

Hunt is Toledo’s all-time leading rusher with 4,945 yards.

Former Rocket tight end Michael Roberts also played in the game, catching one pass for four yards.
