Chili cook-off to take place on Health Science Campus Feb. 10

The University of Toledo Medical Center is bringing employees together for a friendly competition at its inaugural Chili Cook-Off Championship Wednesday, Feb. 10, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Four Seasons Bistro Atrium.

Twenty-one departments on UT’s Health Science Campus held chili contests, from which winners were selected to participate in the UTMC contest.

The judges for the UTMC Chili Cook-Off Championship will be UT President Sharon L. Gaber; Dr. Christopher Cooper, executive vice president for clinical affairs and dean of the UT College of Medicine and Life Sciences; UTMC CEO Dave Morlock; and Daniel Barbee, vice president of clinical services at UTMC.

Spectators at the event will receive complimentary chili or vegetable chili from the Four Seasons Bistro. The event will be emceed by Tony Urbina, service excellence officer at UTMC, and Mario Toussaint, senior director of operations for dining, retail and clinical nutrition.

The winner of the UTMC contest will receive a large trophy to display in the department for a year, lunch catered to his or her department, and a prize package.
