To celebrate the Year of the Dragon, the Center for International Studies and Programs will host a Lunar New Year Celebration Tuesday, Feb. 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Thompson Student Union Auditorium.

The free, public event will feature more than 15 activities for the UToledo community to experience and learn about different cultures that celebrate the Lunar New Year, including lantern making, calligraphy, mask painting, tea ceremony, ring toss, traditional clothing and more. Attendees also may enjoy a free lunch.

Student organizations including the  Chinese Student and Scholar Association, Chinese American Student Association and Vietnamese Student Association will be participating in the festival to showcase their traditional new year celebrations as well.

“We welcome the UToledo campus to join us for this fun event,” said Xinren Yu, assistant director for the Center for International Studies and Programs. “This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about how people in Asian countries celebrates the Lunar New Year. There will be plenty of prizes for all participants to win and a free lunch.”
