Beginning Monday, Feb. 15, UToledo students will have increased access to primary care services at the University Health Center on Main Campus through extended in-person clinic hours and continued availability of telehealth services. In addition to expanded clinic hours, the health center also will now offer care by appointment to University faculty and staff.
The University is partnering with The University of Toledo Physicians Group to manage and provide care in the Main Campus as well as the Health Science Campus clinic locations. The partnership not only provides access to primary and acute care services, but also can connect and refer patients with follow-up specialty services such as orthopaedics, neurology, psychiatry and behavioral health care.
In January, the University announced plans for a new University Campus Health Services model designed to provide students, faculty and staff with a comprehensive, integrated health and wellness system.
“These new changes are one further step toward our overall goal to realign our health services and provide greater access to more comprehensive, coordinated care for our students, faculty and staff,” said Dr. Linda Lewandowski, interim executive director of University Campus Health Services, vice provost for health affairs for interprofessional and community partnerships and dean of the College of Nursing.
The new hours for the University Health Center on Main Campus are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 3 p.m. Saturday. The Health Science Campus Clinic hours will remain the same: 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Phones will be staffed in the clinic at both locations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Telehealth services for students, faculty and staff are additionally available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
