Yash Kakade, a junior studying computer science and engineering, is dressed by Xue Ying, a visiting scholar in applied linguistics, during the Lunar New Year festival hosted by the Center for International Studies and Programs Tuesday afternoon in Thompson Student Union Auditorium.

The free annual event featured more than a dozen activity tables for the UToledo community to experience and learn about how different cultures celebrate the Lunar New Year, including lantern painting, calligraphy, bracelet making, tea ceremony, ring toss, traditional clothing and more.

Colleen Palmer, a senior majoring in paralegal studies, painted a mask.
