The University of Toledo College of Engineering will welcome more than 140 companies to its Spring 2025 Engineering Career Expo on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
The college’s semiannual career expos are an opportunity for students to network with industry leaders and secure valuable co-op, internship and full-time positions across the industry. Approximately 700 students and alumni are expected to participate in this semester’s expo from 9 a.m. to noon in Savage Arena.
The College of Engineering will welcome more than 140 companies to its Spring 2025 Engineering Career Expo on from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday in Savage Arena.
Participating companies include Dana Inc., Honda, Cenovus, Whirlpool, First Solar, Marathon Petroleum Corp., Matrix Technologies Inc., Verdantas, Toledo Refining Company, North Star BlueScope, Lubrizol, Applied Environmental Solutions, Libbey Inc., PCC Airfoils LLC, Plastic Technologies Inc., NSG/Pilkington North America, Rudolph Libbe/GEM Inc., SSOE Group, USG, First Energy, Zimmer Biomet, Monroe Environmental and Vistra, among others.
“The job market continues to be strong for engineering and STEM-related fields,” said Geoffrey Humphrys, assistant director of the Shah Center for Engineering Career Development. “The Engineering Career Expo provides an invaluable platform for UToledo engineering students and graduates to connect with dedicated employers and alumni. Our integrated co-op program is a major reason why students choose UToledo — and why companies consider us a target university for recruitment. Our students and graduates truly demonstrate ‘The Power To Do’ and are making an impact on the global economy.”
Employers emphasize the impact UToledo engineering students and graduates make in the workforce.
“The University of Toledo Career Fair is a key recruitment event for Applied Environmental Solutions. All of our full-time employees have come from the UT Engineering Program, and I anticipate this trend continuing as we grow our business,” said Rick Johnson, co-founder and chief operating officer of Applied Environmental Solutions. “The students we meet at this event are highly professional, and their academic and work experience directly align with what we look for in future employees.”
Mike Livingston, senior preconstruction leader at Rudolph Libbe Inc., echoed this sentiment.
