The University of Toledo is actively progressing in its search for its 19th president.

The Presidential Search Committee is finalizing first-round virtual interviews with a pool of highly qualified candidates. Additional interview rounds will occur in March and April, followed by final contract negotiations — all aimed at securing a visionary leader before the next academic year begins.

UToledo Board of Trustees Chair Patrick J. Kenney underscored the significance of this process for both the University and the Toledo community.

“We are acutely aware of how vital this presidential search is for the University and for the entire Toledo community,” he said. “We appreciate the encouraging support from so many individuals both near and far, and while we respect the candidates’ confidentiality, I am delighted to report that we are engaging with excellent, impressive individuals who are excited about the opportunity to lead UToledo.”

Kenney co-chairs the search committee with UToledo Trustee Stephen P. Ciucci. The committee comprises all University trustees as well as key internal and external stakeholders.
