Two University of Toledo faculty members will discuss the ongoing conflict in Ukraine in a lecture at the Toledo Lucas County Public Library main branch in downtown Toledo at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28.
“The War in Ukraine: Reflections on Two Years of Conflict” is a free, public event presented by the Roger Ray Institute for the Humanities in the UToledo College of Arts and Letters.
The presenters are Dr. Joel Voss, an associate professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, and Dr. Barry Jackisch, an associate professor in the Department of History and director of the Roger Ray Institute for the Humanities. Ahead of the second anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, they will discuss the current state of the war, the impact of the war on individuals and on the international community and the potential outcomes of the war and their implications.
The Roger Ray Institute for the Humanities advocates for and supports the study of human culture — from a great variety of fields — at all levels of learning and scholarship. It seeks both to sustain the work of humanities-related inquiries at UToledo and foster the dissemination of that knowledge and expertise to a larger community of learners.
