The Toledo women’s basketball team will hold its annual “Rockets for the Cure” game on Saturday, March 5, in Savage Arena. The Rockets will host Western Michigan at 2 p.m. in their final game of the regular season.
The Mid-American Conference matchup will help benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Northwest Ohio and the Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center. The Rockets encourage everyone in attendance to wear pink in support of cancer research.
The goal of “Rockets for the Cure” is to provide cancer education to the community, provide encouragement to the survivors fighting now and their families, celebrate the survivors who have won the fight, remember the ones who were less fortunate and pack Savage Arena with 5,000 or more Rocket fans in pink. The Rockets have raised more than $142,000 for this cause since 2010.
The Rockets are offering FREE admission to all Breast Cancer Survivors and those living with Metastatic Breast Cancer. Fans can also purchase pink Rockets for the Cure T-shirts for $12, with all proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen and Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center. T-shirt supplies are limited and will be available for pickup at Fan Services on the main concourse day of the game.
