2 Rockets Among Top Students at Nationwide Invitational Sales Competition

The University of Toledo’s Edward H. Schmidt School of Professional Sales in the John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation recently hosted its ninth annual UToledo Invitational Sales Competition (UTISC), marking another year of exceptional growth and success in nurturing the next generation of professional sales talent.

More than 110 students made their national debut in this year’s three-day competition, showcasing their talent and passion for professional selling.

Emily Moeller was crowned the silver bracket junior champion; Mohammad Almasri secured fifth place in the silver bracket for sophomores/freshmen.

Through the support of 13 corporate sponsors, these students had the opportunity to connect with some of the nation’s top companies, setting the stage for a bright future in sales.

The Neff College of Business and Innovation team placed 7th overall out of 35 universities in the role play competition.

Emily Moeller, a professional sales student, was crowned the silver bracket junior champion, while UToledo’s Mohammad Almasri, a freshman Neff Scholar, secured fifth place in the silver bracket for sophomores/freshmen.

“Each year, I am incredibly grateful to work with a team that continually commits to customer experience, showcasing the best of UToledo, paying it forward to help others, meeting new people and sharing their passion for The University of Toledo and the Edward H. Schmidt School of Professional Sales,” said Deirdre Jones, director of UTISC.

The impact of the UTISC also extended beyond UToledo students, with high school students from the Toledo area, including Whitmer High School’s DECA business class, attending the event.

Since its inception in 2016, the competition has been a launchpad for more than 800 students into careers that serve more than 70,100 customers worldwide.
