The University of Toledo Libraries announced an upcoming migration to a new library services platform by Ex Libris, set to launch in June. This cutting-edge platform will provide a range of innovative features designed to enhance the user experience, streamline access to resources and improve account security for all library users.
The new platform will include the Primo VE search and discovery interface, offering a more intuitive and efficient way to explore and utilize library materials. Users will be able to easily search for items from the UToledo Library catalog, OhioLINK member libraries and the Community Zone — a collection of shared resources extending beyond OhioLINK.
In addition to a modernized search experience, the platform will offer enhanced user account functionality. Beyond tracking loans and requests, users will be able to create a personalized list of favorite resources directly from search results, making research more efficient and organized.
The new system also simplifies citation management with features that allow users to cite, export, link or email items with just a few clicks, significantly improving workflow and productivity.
“We are thrilled to offer our faculty, staff and students an enhanced online library experience,” said Thomas Atwood, dean of University Libraries. “This transition will not only improve how users discover resources but also provide them with tools that support their research in a more seamless and secure environment.”
The University Libraries team is committed to ensuring a smooth transition to the new platform and will provide support and training resources to all users as the launch date approaches.
