Lambis Vassiliadis will bring his explosive playing style to The University of Toledo for the Dorothy MacKenzie Price Piano Series this weekend.
He will give a recital Sunday, March 15, at 3 p.m. in the Center for Performing Arts Recital Hall. Vassiliadis will perform a Liszt transcription for solo piano of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony.On Saturday, March 14, he will present a master class from 10 a.m. to noon in the Center for Performing Arts Recital Hall.
Vassiliadis is an associate professor of music at Ionian University in Corfu, Greece. In addition, he has taught at Bowling Green State University, where he also studied, and at the University of Cincinnati.
The native of Cyprus has won 11 awards in international and national piano competitions. Vassiliadis has recorded 15 discs featuring the music of Chopin, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Beethoven and Rachmaninoff.
