Rockets tie for third in Scholar All-America Team rankings

Toledo women’s swimming and diving recently tied for third in the nation on the College Swimming Coaches Association of America Division I Scholar All-America Team, after maintaining a team GPA of 3.55 during the 2012 fall semester.

The association recognizes the programs with a team GPA above 3.00 annually; this included a total of 191 teams across the country last fall.

North Texas stood with the highest GPA among Division I women’s swimming and diving programs at 3.62. Alabama maintained a 3.57 GPA for second place, while UT and Gardner-Webb each finished with a 3.55 GPA.

The next highest Mid-American Conference team to appear in the rankings after Toledo was Ball State. The Cardinals were tied for 18th with a 3.45 team GPA, followed by Akron with a 3.40 GPA that tied for 22nd on the list.
